Dear friends
We live in uncertain, tough and challenging times. Few people would dispute that. On almost all human fronts, ranging from the political and economic to the very personal, we face enormous challenges. Not surprisingly, many of us live with deep levels of fear and anxiety.
Against this background, it is wise for us to reflect again on the basis of our security. Where do we find our ultimate sense of security? When we reflect on this question, we may give many different answers: family, friends, money, property, job, insurance and so on.

Wasn't the weather on Wednesday just a reminder of those instances when we are gripped by a sudden and intense experience of God pouring out His goodness from the heavens? Very often God's presence and purpose in this world can pass by most without them even noticing it. But sometimes God's presence and purpose cannot but grab your attention.

The human race has made huge progress in many areas, yet we are still surprisingly bad at getting along with one another. We seem to spend much time and energy hurting one another - from family quarrels to wars and often we carry, dee, unresolved guilt and pain in our heart.

Warm greetings!
As you may know the Christian Calendar is made up of different seasons. Presently we are in Advent - that season which consists of the four Sundays before Christmas day. Advent, of course, means 'coming' and God is coming. As we prepare to celebrate his human birth, we also prepare for his coming to us in each of our lives at a deeper level. Wherever we have reached in our walk with God, we constantly need to deepen that relationship and ask God to come closer. Also, as part of the whole church, we pray together for Christ's final glorious coming. So as each of us prepares for Advent in our own personal way, let us together join in that one great prayer for the world:'Lord, may your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. Amen'
