Weekly Greeting: Sunday 29 January
Dear Friends
Welcome to our services today.
It was just so good to have all our Sunday worship services up and running last Sunday, (all be it a little frenzied at times) as the public school term began. Our first inter-generational service at 10am in the Wesley Hall surprised us a little with over 130 people attending! We praise God for this and pray that this service may grow from strength to strength.
Today at 10am in the Sanctuary, it is the Induction Service of both Rev Louise Wernich and Deacon Tony Habgood. We welcome the Vice Chairperson of the District and former Northfield minister, Rev Phidian Matsepe, who will lead us in this wonderful moment of calling upon God for His particular blessing on Louise and Tony as they serve God and grow His kingdom in, around and among us.
In our sermon series on New Life for a New Year, we have looked at some essential themes (hope, faith, purpose & faithfulness) that need to be found in our 2012 living. We close the series with a focus on Living with Joy. Tonight at the 6:30pm service, Brian continues the focus on the life of Jesus as he ministers Jesus the friend to us. We trust that your worship experience today may draw you into the very presence of a living, loving and good God.
The fruit of the Spirit has featured prominently in our worship services over January. G. Campbell Morgan captures them in a wonderful way in these words:
Joy is love's consciousness.
Peace is love's confidence.
Patience is love's habit.
Kindness is love's activity.
Generosity is love's quality.
Faithfulness is love's quantity.
Gentleness is love's tone.
Self-control is love's victory.
Joy is love’s consciousness…
Shalom
