Guided Prayer
What is a WEEK OF GUIDED PRAYER? It's like a retreat, only at home. Participants agree to spend 20-30 minutes each day, for a week, in prayer, in their own home, they also agree to meet with their prayer guide for up to half an hour each day at the Church, at a mutualyy convenient time. The Prayer guide will listen and give suggestions for your prayer the next day. Why Do It? Often people feel that they are beginners in the life of prayer. Some also may feel the need to deepen their relationship with God. Here is one practical way of doing it. It is also an opportunity of focusing on your God-relationship with the help of another person. The role of the prayer guide is not to counsel or direct, but to walk beside you and encourage you in your praying. When Does It Happen? Once a year a structured Week of Guided Prayer is held at Northfield, usually in the month of March - However, some guides are also available to come alongside you at any time during the year. For this to happen you need to phone the Pastoral Care Centre, who will direct the request to the necessary people and they will make contact with you. We invite you to consider this invitation seriously. It really could be the "beginning of new beginnings" in your relationship with God. For further information contact: Debbie: 011 849 2274
