Family Life
Family Life Ministries was established at Northfield Methodist Church in 2007. It is a response to a widely felt need for the church to try and meet the many needs of families in our communities. Mike and Colleen Brown head up this Ministry. The following courses and programs are presented on a regular basis:
Baptism Preparation: - The parent of babies being baptised at Northfield attend a three session course. The theological and practical aspects of Christian parenting are dealt with. In requesting baptism for their children parents undertake to bring their children up in a Christian home.
Marriage Enrichment Course: - A seven week course where couples can learn skills to enrich their marriages.
Marriage Preparation:- All couples who wish to be married at Northfield are offered this five week course. The course deals with the foundational aspects of marriage.
Parenting Courses: This is aimed at parents of children under the age of twelve and a separate course is held for parents of teenagers. These courses are interactive and provide opportunities for parents to care and support one another. Single parents are very welcome to attend. Dates of future courses can be supplied on application.
