Northfield Methodist Church

Lorna Schreiber heads up this ministry and became a Pastor at the Northfield Methodist Church in April 1992 and has worked in this capacity ever since. Coming from a medical background her particular ministry is to care for the seriously ill members of our congregation, where her knowledge of diseases gives her a greater understanding of the needs of the people with whom she works. She also visits the folk who, due to their incapacitation or frail old age are prevented from attending church. She visits some 30 – 35 people each week to chat with them, pray with them and give them Holy Communion. Lorna is also available to visit the terminally ill patients in the East Rand branch of Hospice. Lorna conducts church services each month at several retirement and frail-care homes besides conducting many funeral services at Northfield Church .
