Weekly Greeting: Sunday 15 January

Dear Friends

Today the theme for the morning is "Living with Purpose" and the theme this evening at 6:30pm is "Living as a Servant". Both themes exploring the kind of life God has in mind for us to live.

Weekly Greeting: Sunday 11 December

Dear Friends

So what do you think of the world we live in? That is what most “around the fire” conversations are about these days and we have plenty to say about the condition of the world we live in.

Well when I read the Christmas Story, I catch a glimpse of what God thinks of the world. God’s opinion is that our world needs Jesus. The Christmas Story is not an event but rather an invitation from God to participate in a world that works.

Weekly Greeting: Sunday 6 November

Dear Friends

Once again, thank you to the Volunteers and Staff that made Norfest what it was. Thank you too for your support of Norfest. It has been a blessing to hear stories from different people, both Northfielders and Visitors, about the positive experiences of being part of the Norfest event. May we never get used to and take for granted, the resources and facilities we have been blessed with.

Weekly Greeting: Sunday 30 October

Dear Friends

After what feels like months of furlough it is really good to be back and to be worshipping with the family of Northfield. Today we focus on two themes and they are connected. The first is “Staying Moral in a tough World” and the second is “A Celebration of the Harvest”. Staying moral will be the focus of the sermon and the celebration of the harvest will be the focus of our Worship.

Weekly Greeting: Sunday 18 September

Dear Friends

It is always amazing to consider the life of Northfield as a community. At the end of this year Mike Brown heads for retirement and we take on Louise Wernich as a new Minister.

Weekly Greeting: Sunday 7 August

CROUCH – TOUCH - PAUSE – ENGAGE

Dear Friends

Crouch - touch - pause - engage is a phrase known to any Rugby fan, that moment before the two scrums collide and push for possession of the ball. When I look at the diary for August and flowing into September and then I see what is scheduled for October, November and December – I get a real sense of “Crouch - Touch - Pause - Engage”. There is something for everyone. Northfield is certainly not short of programmes, projects and events. My plea is to please make sure you are up to date with what is going on in the life of our

Weekly Greeting: Sunday 15 May

Dear Friends

We have launched The Old Testament Challenge Series and there are a number of new groups that have formed for the duration of the series. It is not too late to join one. The small group offers an opportunity to journey through the prepared material as a group and dig a bit deeper into the topics we raise each week. If you are not part of a group, please consider joining this Sunday. Connect with Tony Habgood at the OTC Desk in the foyer.

Weekly Greeting: Sunday 17 April

Dear Friends

There is an ancient familiarity with Palm Sunday that is a good thing. The cry "Blessed in He who comes in the name of the Lord." A phrase from Psalm 118 and itself has been shouted out for hundreds of years before Christ. So we gather in an ancient tradition, today, to proclaim Jesus as the one who saves.

Weekly Greeting: Sunday 4 September

sDear Friends

The theme for today is “Families at their best”. A number of years ago one of my children brought a friend home from Sunday School to join us for Sunday lunch. This “friend” had only ever seen me in my role as “Minister”. Not long after we had arrived at home, my daughter did something that warranted the “dad” to reprimand her, which I did with the normal “parent” enthusiasm. The “new to our home” friend turned to me and said, “So you are not such a nice guy”. A wonderful moment of family reality.

Weekly Greeting: Sunday 3 April

Dear Friends

World events over the last while have riveted our attention. End time theories abound and people are not short of opinions about these events.
