Weekly greeting - 21 August
Dear Friends,
Warm greetings.
There is quite a buzz around Northfield at the moment! Phil Togwell and Danny Wong arrived this week from the UK to invest their lives in the life of our community. We welcome them warmly. We also hope that you will participate in some of their offerings. Here are some that you can make a note of.
• Sunday at our 6.30 pm service they will be leading our worship. We really hope that you will spread the word and invite others to be part of this gathering.
• They will also be with us on Wednesday night, 25 August at 7 pm in the Sanctuary for another night of fun, fellowship, praise and worship.
• There will be an event called AFLAME, for young people from all over to join in the night of praise, worship and prayer beginning Friday night, 27 August at 6 pm. This will go through to the following morning.
Phil and Danny are part of the 24/7 International and Inter-denominational Prayer and Mission movement which has been interceding continually, night and day, since 1999 in more than 50 countries. It brings to the churches a radical challenge to persevere in prayer and to work for God’s kingdom in our midst.
Next Sunday Phil will be leading our two morning services in the Sanctuary. We are also inviting each member of these two worshipping congregations to bring a friend. We will be encouraging folk to consider seriously becoming part of the next Alpha course.
Then on another note, the Retreat programme at Emseni continues to bring blessing and enrichment into the lives of many retreatants. Our next day retreat will be on Saturday, 4 September. The theme will be “Opening the Heart’s Door” and will be led by Marina Fick. It begins at 9 am and ends at 3.30 pm. Teas will be provided – bring your own lunch. You can book by phoning Lyn at 011-849 7031. Cost is R50.
Please hold all these events in your own heart and prayer.
God bless.
