The "Mighty Men Conference" was a significant experience for nearly 200 Northfield and Benoni Central men who attended. Some lives were changed - Every life was touched. Almost impossible to describe is the sensation of sitting among an estimated 400 000 men who in unison shout "Amen!" The sound must have been heard for many kilometres in the surrounding hills and valleys.

A personal conviction that I have returned with is the importance of Scripture in our lives. I fee there is a danger in only projecting the Scripture onto the screen in the Sanctuary each week, to the point that we no longer think about bringing our bibles to church, as we don't need them. Hence the invitation to bring your bible to church next Sunday. I have asked the Book Shop to have a stock of bibles available should you not own one and feel you would like to use the opportunity to purchase a bible.

Today, as we continue our journey through the "150 Days of Renewal", we ask the question, "How do we find renewal in times of burnout and depression?" One of the realities of life, and reflecting on the "Wedding at Cana", sometimes we simply "run out of wine".

There is no doubt in my mind, that today there are men and women in this Sanctuary who have "run out of wine". May we today find a moment of refreshing in our worship, experience a Word of encouragement in our sharing and find healing and comfort through our prayers.
