Weekly Greeting: Sunday 14 September

Dear Friends

Warm greetings,

We are currently focusing on the theme "Lord, teach us to pray". Of course, this was the question that the disciples posed to Jesus when they had observed His life of prayer. Jesus responded by teaching them the Lord's Prayer ( Lk 11:1-4) which has served as the model and guide to Christ-followers for centuries.

However, most Christ-followers who are serious about their relationship with God, still ask the Lord to teach them to pray. They know that prayer does not come easily and is almost counter-intuitive.

Whilst many books have been written on prayer and we pray the Lord's prayer regularly, many still harbour a deep desire to move towards union with God. Instinctively we know that such union is indeed 'heaven' and is a place of profound safety and peace.

Here's some quotes from Gregory of Nyssa

"The effect of prayer is union with God; and if someone is with God, he is separated from the enemy."

"Prayer is joy in things of the present, and the substance of things to come."

Hence serious Christ-followers will earnestly implore God to 'teach them to pray' and to learn how to pray increasingly.

Won't you, like us, enroll in the School of Prayer? The Great Teacher is God Himself.

Much love to you.

The Ministry Team
