Dear Friends
First of all, a happy New Year to all! We welcome back those who have been away - it is great to have you back with us. The last few weeks have been quite hectic within the life of our Northfield family - lots of celebrative worship, many folk visiting, some painful funerals and the usual pastoral work of a local congregation. As we begin the year there may be a few things that you want to know about.
Our worship services for the next two months will focus on CHOICES. You may like to see the direction we are hoping to go in - here is the intended outline of themes:
18 Jan - Choosing Priorities Gods Way
25 Jan - Choosing To Make A Difference
1 Feb - Choosing To Be Happy
8 Feb - Choosing To Change For The Better
15 Feb - Choosing To Be Hopeful
22 Feb - The Best Decision You Will Ever Make
We trust that you will share these opportunities for growth and deepening with your friends and families. Please note that our Covenant Service will take place on the 22nd Feb. This is that special moment in our life together when we renew our commitment to God and to each other.
As you will see on the image we are holding a teaching series entitled EXPLORING THE NEXT STEP. This series is a 5 week journey aimed to help us take the next step in our journey of faith. It should be helpful for both those who have walking with Christ for some time, as well as those who are at the beginning of their journey. Hopefully it may also offer something worthwhile to those who are not part of the Christian faith and who want to learn a little about it.
We will be hosting our first retreat at the new Emseni Retreat House over the weekend 24-26 January. It will be led by Trevor Hudson and is open to anyone who has not been on retreat before. The theme is Journey Into Silence and is aimed at helping first time retreatants to discover the place of silence and Christian meditation in the life of discipleship. Application forms are available by contacting Lyn Meyer at the church office.
Our Healing Well is open again. Every Wednesday, from 9am until 3pm, members of the Healing Well are available to pray with those who want prayer. No appointment is needed. Simply come to our new chapel in the Pastoral Care Centre and you will be warmly welcomed.
We trust that this will be a year full of good surprises as we journey together with Christ and with each other.
