warmth
Weekly Greeting: Sunday 24 January 2010
Hello Everybody!
Thank you so much for the preparation and warmth of welcome we as a family have walked into in moving to Northfield. Every thoughtful gift and wish sent to us by so many is deeply valued. While it is humbling to know that people do this without even knowing much about us, I also stand in awe by the possibility of this open and unconditional welcome we have experienced.
Weekly Greeting: Sunday 18 May
Dear Friends
Warm greetings! I came across an article titled "Can we ever be accused of saying thank you too many times?" How would you respond? Personally I doubt whether it is possible to say thank you too many times. Somehow a thank you communicates warmth, gratitude and genuine appreciation. In this respect I wonder how God enjoyed our time of saying thank you as a congregation of Friday night? I wonder it it brought a smile to God's face. I think it did!
Weekly Greeting: Sunday 30 March
Dear Friends
True friendship provides us with some of the greater joys available to humans. For a brief moment bring to mind a person who has been / is a true friend to you and you will experience the pleasurable warmth that such a friend produces in you.
True friends love you in a way that seeks what is best for you. True friends will encourage you, listen to you, walk with you, help you, lift you up, comfort you and go to the ends of the earth for you.
Moses was such a friend to God for it is written that the Lord spoke to him "as a man speaks with his friend." Ex 33.11
At one time, Jesus spoke to His disciples and called them His friends .." I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you." John 15:15
We have the incredible privilege of entering into a friendship with God. He wants what is best for us and as we grow in our friendship with Him, we will learn to love the same things and the same truth as God does.
In John 21:15-17 Jesus restores Peter into friendship with Him. He was God's friend.
