Warm greetings. Today is the last Sunday for our Generosity Giving month. Thank you very much to all those Northfielders who have made pledges over the past four Sundays. So far we have received 207 pledges, totalling R167 204.00 per month. Our prayers and our hope is that we will reach at least 300 pledges today. If you have not yet pledged, may we invite you to consider doing so today. Please know that your pledge is both confidential and not legally binding. It merely expresses your intention for the coming year July 2008 - June 2009. It also helps us to budget wisely and faithfully. We have also received a number of one-off donations. Thank you to each of you who have responded in this way. On Sunday, 13 July, we will give thanks at all our worship services for whatever has been given.

There are two more Sundays to go for our Generosity Giving Month! So far we have received one hundred and thirty seven pledges totaling R96974.00. Thank you so much to all those Northfielders who have responded. It is a great encouragement to us all. It would be really great if we could reach three hundred pledges from our congregation. This would help us a great deal to budget wisely and faithfully for the future.

Some folk are still not clear what we mean by pledge. Very simply, our pledge indicates what we think we will be able to give on a monthly basis for the period between June 2008 and June 2009. It is not legally binding. It merely expresses your deliberate intention to invest a certain amount in God's work here at Northfield. A pledge can range from literally R1 per month to whatever you consider to be a generous expression of your love for God. Should you require a pledge form, please contact the church office. June is our generosity giving month. Over these five Sundays we are inviting each person who calls Northfield Methodist Church their spiritual home to consider pledging a monthly amount for one year. It has been an exciting adventure so far. Over the past two Sundays - Northfielders have pledged amounts between R10.00 and R4350.00 per month totalling R62535.00. Should you want to offer your pledge today, the Pledge boxes are in the foyer. During this time we are inviting all who call Northfield their spiritual home to reflect on their financial commitment to the ongoing life and ministry of our congregation. As per last week's Bulletin -  we have included an information brochure and a pledge form. (These are available from the church office). It would be much appreciated if, at your convenience, you would complete the pledge form and drop it in the Generosity Giving Box after the service. (Please contact Leoni if you would prefer to set up a debit order on your account or do an electronic fund transfer). Last week twenty one Northfielders made pledges totaling R20 000 per month. We express our gratitude and our thanks both to God and those who have made their pledges. It helps us a great deal to budget wisely for the future.
