Northfield Methodist Church, a significant Methodist Church situated in Benoni, Gauteng, requires a Children’s Pastor.
The applicant should primarily love God and have a passion for young children that will translate into providing ministry that is relevant, meaningful and powerful in today’s world, as well as continuously developing ministry for tomorrow’s world.
The following qualities would be an advantage to applicants:

Statistics
Research (‘Solidarity Helping Hand’, Cape Times 4/6/2009) indicates that a South African child is raped every three minutes. While there are about 60 reported cases of child rape every day, research suggests that more than 88% are never reported, leaving a figure of around 530 per day.
There is also a steady increase in these crimes. In 2007/2008 22.4% more incidents were reported. Alarmingly 45% of all rapes in the country are on children.
KPMG Christmas Party - Kingsway Primary School
On Sunday 2nd December 2007, the Kingsway Primary school, which is responsible for educating many of the children who are cared for at our outreach project - Point of Light, were delighted and amazed at the festivities that awaited them. The school was transformed into a place of celebration and joyous activity. 100 children aged from seven to ten years of age were treated to an early Christmas party, thanks to KPMG. The school was a buzz with jumping castles, face painters and plenty of delicious goodies to eat!
