Outreach

Adult Literacy

Is a ministry which offers people the opportunity to improve their literacy levels

Mission To Mozambique

All in a days work on an African outreach

The Northfield methodist church in conjunction with Jonathan Hart (X Stream Harvest) organises frequent mission trips up to Mozambique.  Northfield currently supports a hub in Mozambique.
Bibles are placed and distributed and many churches are touched in a way that will only be measured in eternity.
We praise God for the thousands of people who will be touched and for new churches that will be planted.

Soup Kitchen

Providing a meal a day to the needy

An average of around fifty destitute men and women are served soup and bread at 11h00 in the Faith Hall on week-days at Northfield. For some it is the only decent meal of the day. Helpers are always needed in this ministry, and we request that concerned individuals with some time to spare, even two hours a week contact Sheila in order to assist.

Mobile Library

Making library books available to those less fortunate

This ministry seeks to make library books available to children in less privileged environments, and thereby encourage reading and educational growth. Contact Geoff: 076 486 0584

Outreach

Point of Light Project

Outreach

This ministry was established approximately six years ago, and is based in the Lindalani Informal Settlement near Benoni. The concept is that the Starfish Centre is the “Point of Light” from which Care Givers operate to alleviate suffering and distress caused by HIV / Aids. Currently around one hundred and sixty children are fed daily at the “Point of Light”, and around one hundred and fourteen families are cared for by Care Givers. Sadly, a number of these families are headed by children, which places them in an even more vulnerable position.
